Description:
The war in Bosnia and Herzegovina has left behind a grim legacy of landmines and other explosive remnants of war (ERW). As of 2015, the estimated size of suspected areas contaminated by mines and ERW is still 1.165 sq km or 2,3% of the total land surface area. The project aims at continuing mine action activities, which consist of technical survey, mine clearance and mine risk education. This will create better conditions for the safe and sustainable return of refugees as well as improve the living conditions of the local population in the Bosanska Posavina region.
