Description:
The Typhoon Haiyan, which has affected heavily the Philippines, has also hit an ammunition storage dose to Tacloban airport (an important hub for the delivery of humanitarian aid). The Head of the relief operations in the area from the Philippine navy has requested the Mines Advisory Group (MAG) for support. The proposed project includes the support of MAG for the military clear up operation of the scattered armoury contents. This will reduce the threat by ordinance, small arms and small arms ammunition for the (soon returning) civilian population. (Partner: MAG Tacloban emergency assessment)
